A couple of my local Diners-
gone but not forgotten - when I took these
pictures I had no idea they would be history. |
|

Moondance Diner, 6th Ave NYC.
this diner a landmark and included in so many
movies,
most famously Spiderman. The site is now a hotel.
Has
been moved to La Barge, Wyoming! |

The Empire Diner, 10th Ave NYC "the Hippest
Diner on Earth"
- movies include Woody Allen's Manhattan., Men
in Black 2 (thus the Earth reference), and many more.
Chelsea Landmark, Closed May 2010 |

Peculiar Pub- Bleecker Street, NYC.
NYU area - across from my apartment. |

Sullivan Street Playhouse, 181 Sullivan Street, NYC.
Another
classic gone forever,
where “The Fantastiks”
ran for more than 40 years until 2002.
Just around the corner - now a expensive Apartment Bldg.
Prior
to its conversion to a theater, long-time
Village residents report that the building was
home to a nightclub and speakeasy operated by
Jimmy Kelley,
a long-time Greenwich Village Democratic Party
boss. |
